The Road
What is the Walk to Emmaus?
The Walk to Emmaus is a 72-hour spiritual retreat modeled on the Early Church described in Acts 2:42–47. It takes its name from Luke 24, where two disciples walked the road to Emmaus with the risen Christ, and their hearts burned within them as He opened the Scriptures.
Pilgrims are placed at tables by divine appointment, not by choice. Over three days they hear fifteen talks, worship, take communion, and are surrounded by a community of believers devoted to prayer and service.
Men leave transformed. Not by a method, but by the overwhelming, tangible presence of God’s agape love. It is something that must be lived to be understood.
Out of respect for future pilgrims, this site does not describe what happens on the weekend. If you are considering a Walk: go. Do not hesitate.
“Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. And they said to one another, 'Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?'”
Fifteen Steps
The Talks
Every Walk is built on the same fifteen talks, in the same order. Each one is given by a team member who has walked the road himself. These are the fifteen talks of #108.
